A cutting-edge technology company in the autonomous vehicle and robotics space is seeking detail-oriented Safety Drivers to support its autonomous vehicle testing program for a one-year contract. This is a unique opportunity to play a critical role in the advancement of next-generation mobility solutions while ensuring the highest standards of safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate autonomous vehicles safely and legally while gathering critical system performance and environmental data.
• Collaborate professionally with engineers, operations teams, and riders by providing feedback and insights.
• Monitor vehicle behavior, conduct field tests, and perform pre-drive safety inspections to ensure readiness.
• Remain alert and responsive at all times to ensure safe operation in real-world conditions.
• Document observations and submit detailed reports to inform product and safety improvements.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of holding a valid U.S. driver’s license.
• Clean driving record (no DUIs or drug/alcohol offenses in the past 5 years).
• Experience in a safety-critical driving role (e.g., autonomous vehicle operator, driving instructor, motorsport, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of traffic laws and local Austin driving regulations.
• Ability to anticipate hazards and respond calmly and quickly under pressure.
• Excellent communication, situational awareness, and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in varying weather and road conditions.

Bonus Points:

• Familiarity with autonomous vehicle systems or related technology.
• Completion of safe or defensive driving courses.
• Experience with data collection or technical testing.
