Job Description

This special education teaching opportunity supports students from kindergarten through 12th grade during an Extended School Year (ESY) program. The position runs from July 7 to August 1, with prep days at the start of July, offering an engaging contract experience within Arlington, VA.

Key Qualifications:

• Active Virginia special education teaching license required
• Experience working with a range of grade levels, from elementary through secondary
• Ability to deliver tailored instruction to meet diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities across grade levels K-12
• Collaborate with educational teams to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Engage in preparatory activities during designated prep days (July 1-3, including a half day on July 3)
• Adjust teaching methods based on students individual strengths and requirements

Schedule:

• Instructional hours from July 7 through August 1
• Elementary level: approximately 5 hours daily
• Secondary level: approximately 5.5 hours daily
