Job Description

A Special Education Teacher opportunity is available for the Extended School Year (ESY) program in Fairfax, VA. This contract position offers a meaningful chance to support students with diverse learning needs from kindergarten through 12th grade during the summer months, with the potential to renew for the 2025-2026 school year.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instructional support tailored to students with disabilities across elementary and secondary grade levels.
• Implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and adapt lessons to meet student needs.
• Collaborate with educational teams to maximize student progress.
• Participate in preparation days and maintain accurate records of student performance.

Qualifications:

• Active Virginia Special Education teaching license is required.
• Experience working with students from kindergarten to 12th grade preferred.
• Ability to conduct engaging lessons during a condensed summer schedule.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Schedule:

• ESY program runs July 7 through August 1.
• Instructional hours range from 5 to 5.5 hours daily depending on grade level.
• Preparation days on July 1, 2, and half-day on July 3.
