RN Scribe Key Responsibilities: Essential Functions Reporting to the Office Manager and managed by clinic physicians, the RN Scribe documents patient encounters in real time, captures accurate and comprehensive patient medical histories and properly constructs and documents patient notes as dictated by the provider. The RN Scribes nursing and clinical administrative experience will support efficient patient flow while reducing a providers documentation burden. As a member of the clinical team the RN Scribe provides direct patient care within their scope of license. Demonstrates, through behavior, Center for Primary Cares Mission Statement. Takes responsibility for providing exceptional customer service. Maintains patient confidentiality at all times; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines. Follows CPC guidelines, infection prevention practices, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand washing according to policy, and follows safety and workplace incident procedures. Review past visit notes and information added to patient medical records between office visits, including lab and test results. Prepare patient medical record in advance of a patient visit to ensure all diagnostic testing results are available. Order pre-visit labs, verify completion and visibility in the patients medical record. Identify and note discrepancies or incomplete medical information, take action as needed. Assess gaps in care by reviewing immunization and screening status, make necessary notations. Prepare office encounter notes with relevant information such as: History of Present Illness, Review of Systems, Physical Exam, and Assessment and Plan. Review reference documents and note information and data provided by our care delivery partners. Accompany provider into patient examination room to accurately transcribe and document providers encounter. Assist provider with exam, treatment, and procedures within scope of license. Assist provider with administrative duties within scope of license including EMR inbox management. Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned. All essential functions must be performed. Qualifications for Success: Education and Experience Requirements Education: High School Graduate or GED, and Associates degree in Nursing (ASN) required. Bachelors degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred. License/Certification: Basic Life Support and RN License in the state required. Experience: Minimum of 1+year of RN experience required. Read, write, and understand medical terminology. Knowledge of electronic medical record system and Microsoft Office suite. Ability to work both independently and in a team environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Advance knowledge of electronic medical record systems, specifically Athena1preferred.
