Overview The Connectivity Components Business Unit (CCBU) is seeking a RF Systems Engineering lead to drive the definition and architecture of next-generation products. This role is critical in shaping leading-edge front-end product architectures while balancing performance, size, power consumption, time-to-market and cost . The ideal candidate will work closely with marketing, engineering, and business development teams to align product specifications with market needs and customer requirements. Key Responsibilities Define and guide the development of next-generation front-end product architectures , balancing technical risk and time-to-market. Conduct RF system simulation and budgeting using tools such as Agilent ADS and SystemVue, Cadence AWR, MATLAB, and MS Excel . Engage with customers to understand system requirements, integrate feedback into product designs, and support initial product deployment. Collaborate with chipset providers to align product roadmaps and create value for both chipset manufacturers and end customers. Analyze and benchmark competitive solutions , providing insights to improve product positioning. Work closely with engineering teams to translate system analysis into formal design specifications . Monitor industry standards bodies Act as the technical subject matter expert , providing guidance across teams and external partners. Required Qualifications MSEE or equivalent degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience . Strong understanding of transmitter and receiver design considerations, basic RF principles and communication theory, wave propagation, and inter-standard coexistence Expertise in 802.11, 802.16, 15.4 systems , and LTE/4G/5G systems as well as ISM band configurations (169MHz – 6GHz) and associated specifications. Experience in RF system lineup analysis, partitioning , and defining design specifications . Strong verbal and written communication skills , with the ability to confidently present to internal and external stakeholders. Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work directly with customers in a technical liaison role , including some global travel as needed. Passion for staying updated on industry standards and emerging technologies contributing to the evolution of relevant specifications. Preferred Qualifications Experience working with chipset vendors and RF system integrators . Familiar with coexisting protocols in the adjacent spectrum and their implications for Wi-Fi product system requirements Participation in industry standards bodies (e.g., IEEE, Wi-Fi Alliance). Familiarity with hardware validation techniques and RF testing methodologies . Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $191,200 - $248,600, relevant for the California Bay Area (subject to change dependent on physical location) Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
