Job Summary The Outreach Athletic Training Coordinator is a dual-role position that provides direct athletic training services at a partner high school while also overseeing and supporting a team of athletic trainers assigned to local high schools. This role ensures the deliver of high-quality, consistent, and compliant athletic training services across multiple sites, acting as both a clinical expert and team leader.
Duties And Responsibilities - Lead and mentor a team of athletic trainers working at local high schools providing athletic training services.
- Provide comprehensive athletic training services at practices, games, and sporting events at assigned local high school: prevention, evaluation, documentation, education, immediate care, referrals, and coordination of care of athletic injuries; communication with coaches, athletes, and parents is part of the everyday role.
- Evaluate injuries and develop treatment and exercise plans within the scope of practice. Re-evaluate treatment plans as needed to ensure maximum patient benefit.
- Implement individualized therapeutic interventions and monitor responses to therapy to ensure client safety. Report progress and medical changes to referring physician.
- Educate clients, families, and coaches regarding injuries, risk factor modifications, and exercise programs.
- Conduct injury screening clinics, educational programs, and workshops to promote safety and injury prevention
- Document patient treatment per professional and regulatory standards.
- Assist Athletic Director as needed.
- Perform other related duties.
Requirements And Qualifications - BS in Athletic Training
- NYS certified
- CPR/First Aid/AED certified
- Experience leading and/or managing people, projects, and/or processes required
- Minimum three (3) years experience in high school or junior college level athletic training services
Physical Demands - Requires considerable physical activity including heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects up to 50 pounds
- Involves standing, walking, and kneeling
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards/physical risk, which requires adhering to basic safety precautions
