Job Description

Trueline’s client, a well-established litigation boutique with deep roots in Southern California, is seeking a Litigation Associate to join their team in Long Beach. Known for their collaborative culture, long-term client relationships, and high retention across attorneys and staff, this firm is expanding its litigation team to meet growing demand in areas like maritime, securities, employment, and commercial litigation.

What You’ll Do as the Litigation Associate:

  • Handle a diverse caseload spanning financial services defense, employment disputes, maritime matters, and general business litigation
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and client communications
  • Represent clients in court and arbitration proceedings
  • Work closely with senior attorneys and partners on strategy, case management, and trial preparation
  • Collaborate in a tight-knit, collegial environment that values mentorship and career growth

Must-Haves as the Litigation Associate:

  • 4+ years of litigation experience in civil defense or complex commercial matters
  • Strong grasp of California court procedures and litigation best practices
  • Ability to manage caseloads and deadlines independently
  • Excellent communication and legal writing skills

Nice-To-Haves as the Litigation Associate:

  • Experience with binding arbitration
  • Familiarity with maritime law or defending financial institutions
  • Background in employment or securities litigation

  • Base compensation in the $180K–$220K range, with flexibility for exceptional candidates
