Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Coordinator with experience in purchasing and the food industry to manage inventory levels, ensure accurate stock records, and support procurement activities. This role plays a key part in maintaining product availability, minimizing waste, and supporting food safety and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods.
  • Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Analyze stock trends to identify slow-moving or excess inventory.

Purchasing & Procurement:

  • Source and order raw materials, ingredients, and packaging in line with production needs.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors; negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
  • Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Work with the finance team to process invoices and resolve billing discrepancies.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Collaborate with production, warehouse, and quality assurance teams to forecast needs.
  • Communicate inventory status and purchasing timelines across departments.
  • Assist with receiving inspections to ensure quality and quantity standards are met.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Ensure inventory and purchasing activities comply with food safety and regulatory standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA, SQF).
  • Maintain proper documentation for traceability, audits, and recalls.
  • Support sustainability and waste-reduction initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in inventory coordination or purchasing, preferably in the food manufacturing or food service industry.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management systems and ERP software.
  • Strong understanding of food industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
