Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Investigator to join our team in support of a large public education system. The EEO Investigator will be responsible for conducting thorough and impartial investigations into complaints of discrimination, harassment, and retaliation, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and internal policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive, review, and assess complaints of discrimination, harassment, and other civil rights violations in the workplace or educational environment
Conduct impartial and timely investigations, including interviews, document reviews, and fact-finding
Prepare well-documented investigative reports with findings and recommendations
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism throughout the investigation process
Provide guidance and technical support on equal employment matters, civil rights policies, and compliance obligations
Track and monitor case statuses and provide updates to appropriate leadership
Assist with the development of training content and awareness programs on EEO and related topics
Participate in hearings or legal proceedings as needed
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Public Administration, or a related field
3+ years of experience conducting EEO or workplace investigations
Working knowledge of federal and state EEO laws (Title VII, ADA, ADEA, etc.)
Strong analytical, interviewing, and written communication skills
Ability to manage sensitive issues with discretion and integrity
Experience working within a public sector, school system, or government environment is a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
EEO Investigator or Civil Rights Investigator Certification
Master’s degree or JD
Experience with case management systems (e.g., iSight, EthicsPoint)
