Description:

This position makes ready and runs clam shell die cutter by performing the following duties.

Level 1 – Entry level employee that is learning process, repairing simple dies

Level 2 – Experienced reruler can repair most dies and rebuild some dies.

Level 3 – Knowledge of level 2 operator with ability to repair or rebuild complicated dies and assist in training new employees.

Directs the work of the department.

Requirements:

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Use die repair knowledge to rework problem dies.
  2. Will work safely with rule to avoid injury.
  3. Inspects repaired dies to make sure the die cuts properly with no border
  4. Performs quality checks of dies to make sure they meet production needs.
  5. Keeps track of completed dies and dies waiting to be repaired.
  6. At end of shift operator cleans area, equipment, performs daily maintenance and informs supervisor of any mechanical, material or other problems that caused issues during the day.

Qualifications

1. High school degree or general education (GED); six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

2. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and short correspondence.

3. Ability to write simple correspondence.

4. Ability to communicate one-on-one with other employees.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and stoop; use hands and arms to reach, handle or feel and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds with assistance. The employee will constantly work with sharp rule that has a high cut threat and requires constant safety observation. High level of finger dexterity is required to shape and mount rule in die board. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.
