Operate as a leader in developing and implementing technology strategies and standards. Assist with information systems activities, including analysis, design, programming, installation, and operations. Develop intermediate and long-range plans for Emory Healthcare, conferring with department heads on proposed projects to define scope and nature. Leadership and Management: Develop and execute a strategic plan for research informatics aligned with the center's research and clinical goals. Lead the research informatics team, setting objectives and measuring progress to ensure alignment with the center's mission. Foster a culture of innovation, encouraging exploration of new tools and techniques to advance research capabilities. Mentor and promote professional development within the team. Manage resources and budgets effectively to support strategic goals. Research Informatics: Oversee design, development, and implementation of informatics systems supporting research, including clinical trial management systems, electronic health records, and data repositories. Ensure interoperability of research systems with clinical and administrative systems. Implement data governance policies to ensure data integrity, confidentiality, and availability. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations, including HIPAA and IRB requirements. Collaboration and Communication: Act as liaison between research community, IT department, and external partners. Provide guidance and support to researchers in utilizing informatics tools. Stay updated on emerging trends and evaluate their applicability. Travel may be less than 10%, with a hybrid work environment combining remote and on-site work. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in IT, engineering, research, or data science. Experience in research or a university healthcare setting. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT, engineering, research, or data science. At least 10 years of experience in IT or data science, with 5 years in management.
